Solar heating can be done in a variety of ways. First of all, we suggest when building a new home have it designed with passive solar gain in mind. With a good architect no one will even notice and it will pay dividends in the money you will save over the life of the home.

Not all of us have the luxury of building new homes so for the rest of us, we have solutions. First would be the SolarSheat. This product absorbs the suns energy, even on very cold days, and blows hot air into your living space. These units can heat from 750 to 1500 sq ft.

Second would be solar collectors and a storage tank similar to those used for solar hot water. These collectors can trap and store heat energy from the sun and run it through your home through a hydronic radiant heating system (i.e. radiators, in floor tubing, etc.)
